Gong Cha!

Hi guys! FYI, this is a continuation from my last post. So.. after we had our lunch at Fish & Co., my mom asked us where we want to chill and have our dessert. She first gave us an option if we'll go for Starbucks, Happy Lemon, MochiCream Cafe or at Gelatissimo. But I suggested that they should try the milk tea from Gong Cha because I really miss the taste of it. I haven't had their milk tea since I left the University of Tigers. And so we decided to have our dessert at Gong Cha.

A brief background about Gong Cha, according to their web site... Gong Cha was first launched in Kaohsiung, Taiwan in 2006. There are over 100 outlets worldwide spreading from Taiwan to Hong Kong, Singapore, Macau, and China.

Here's their whole menu..

There are many options you can choose on. Be it with Regular Milk Tea, Ice Cream Special (where it is topped off with ice cream, Blended Tea (like Zagu), Ice Smoothie, Creative Mix (weird combinations of milk tea and whatsoever), and my favorite, House Special. And for the sugar conscious people, you can select what level of sweetness you want for your drink!

This is the reason why I love Gong Cha's House Special...

Unlike the other milk tea, their house special is very different from them. Because as you can notice, when they serve it, the brewed teas are separated from the milk cream. And you'll be the one to mix it. And as for me, I like to sip the brewed tea first before I shake it completely. Then I'll lick the cream atop and the sides of the milk tea. Hmmm. Yum!

I usually order their House Special Gong Cha Milk Winter Melon Tea, but this time I wanna try their other flavor. So what I had is House Special Gong Cha Milk Green Tea with egg pudding and tapioca pearls! Look how drooling this can be. For only ₱120.00 (It's originally ₱100.00 but I added a sinker-- egg pudding so +₱20.00)

I could really taste and smell the aroma of the green tea right after I plunged the straw into this milk tea! That foamy milk cream feels like heaven on my mouth. With the right texture of egg pudding and tapioca pearls, it was all perfect.

BTW, they are having a promo of Buy 10 Gift Certificate worth ₱100/each GC and then 1 free Gift Certificate. All in all, it'll cost you ₱1000.00. But the advantage is you get to have a free ₱100.00 GC. It is valid until June 30, 2015. And so, we availed na din. Haha.

Photo session's up!

Gheanna, Karmela, Me, Mom, and Ghelly

Overall, we were all satisfied on our drinks except my Mom didn't like mine because she said it tastes like a flower. Hahaha. I'm gonna miss this milk tea again! If you're a fan of Happy Lemon, you better try Gong Cha because they are similar in the concept of having a rock salt and cheese. But I can say that Gong Cha is more creamy in terms of its texture.
Gong Cha --- “The best tea contributes to the Emperor from all possessions of China in the ancient time.”
In short, "Gong Cha wish your milk tea was hot like this! Gong Cha!" HAHAHA okay enough. 'Til our next food trip!

Fish & Co.: Seafood in a Pan!

After attending church at CCF Malolos yesterday, my family and I had our lunch at Fish & Co. I've been here several times and I can say that this is one my favorite seafood restaurant next to Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. So yesterday, we celebrated my "sister like" friend, Karmela's post-birthday. The last time we saw each other was like last summer pa, so I really really missed her badly!

Ever since Bubba Gump vacated TriNoma, I was really heartbroken back then because I really love Bubba. I remember I was on my 2nd or 3rd year high school at that time. But when we came to know Fish & Co., we usually eat here na whenever we crave for American type seafood restaurant.

Even the interior of the restaurant will make you feel like you're inside the sea world. Charot. Krusty Krab Restaurant lang?! =))

And if ever you're waiting for a friend or a family member or a "lover", you'll definitely won't get bore for there are two cabled LCD TV that you can watch on. Don't be shy to request them to change the channel! And while we're waiting for Karmela and his brother Tantan, we were watching the news about Pope Francis' having the opening mass at UST while munching on some Spinach and Artichoke Formaggio.

So when Karmela and Tantan arrived, we already ordered and this is what we chow down..

For starters: Spinach and Artichoke Formaggio; ₱475.00 (We ordered this from Italianni's)
Yes, this isn't included on Fish & Co.'s menu. My Mom ordered this from Italianni's, just beside the Fish & Co. I love how creamy the formaggio dip melts in my mouth!

Crispy Crablets; ₱295.00
If you'll search for the menu on the net, you won't see this in the lists because this is one of their newest appetizer.

For our Main Course we had the Ultimate Fish-Mates Bundle:
1. Best Fish & Chips in Town with Grilled Chicken Peri-Peri Platter; ₱995.00
The Chicken Peri-Peri was really good especially when you dip it into the chili sauce with tartar sauce. Plus, you'll be really full with the 10 pieces of the best Fish and Chips in Town. With matching seafood rice in the middle.

2. Best Fish & Chips in Town with Crispy Pata; ₱995.00
We also tried this one because of the Crispy Pata. The Crispy Pata was also good but not that much. I still prefer the Crispy Pata of Barrio Fiesta. And again, paired up with the best Fish and Chips in Town.

and as for me, I had the Just For Me Baked Salmon; ₱545.00
The reason I had my solo order is because I'm starting my diet na, "DIE-yet". But really, I just love Salmon. I won't replace anything with this. Just Tuna and Salmon for me! I love how the citrus-y herb flavor of it lingers on my mouth. Plus, it's 80% baked to done-ness!

 A family picture of us.

Karmela got surprised when the crews started singing a Happy Birthday song for her and handed her a Hot Fudge Choco Cake..

Yeheyyyyy! Happy Birthday again my dearest Karmela! Looking forward to your next sleepover in our house! :)

So far, I really enjoyed again our food trip here. I have definitely been hooked on to this restaurant... Forever. Chos. I certainly want you guys to try this uber yum restaurant. You'll absolutely love their food here, especially to the seafood lovers out there like me. The ambiance is check, the service crews were very friendly and approachable so double check, and their food was excellent so triple check. Feel free to comment below and share me your food trip experiences too! 'Til our next food trip!

Hapag Events Place and Restaurant

After the opening of our Sportsfest, the Team Bang and I (Karen's not around tho), had our lunch at Hapag. It's at the back of Malolos Capitol, beside Hiyas ng Bulacan Compound. I was the one this time who suggested this restaurant to my friends.

When we reached there, it was not that crowded yet although it was already lunch time.

Here's some pictures of the inside of Hapag restaurant..

There's also a small lounge music area where I think, every night they play mellow/acoustic songs to make the diners' night more chilling and romantic for lovers.

And this is what we ordered...

Lemonade Tower: ₱148.00

Mozzarella Sticks for our Appetizer: ₱198.00

Grilled Rose Mary Chicken Breast for Mollyn: ₱138.00

Baby Back Ribs for Keziah and Sharmaine: ₱248.00

Grilled Salmon for me: ₱238.00

And Hapag Rice, for we're all rice lovers: ₱178.00 (good for 3-4 person)

I was so disappointed with their service. Like I said earlier, this isn't my first time to eat here so I was really saddened by the way their service this time was appalling. Really awful. The waiter who assisted us wasn't that congenial. When I asked him if they have a mint jelly for the sauce of the lamb chops, he gave me a sullen glance! As if!! But I didn't mind him na lang because I was hungry already and I don't want to get BV (Bad vibes). Then when we ordered a lemonade pitcher, he keeps on insisting us to try the Cucumber flavored lemonade instead. But we still ordered the lemonade pa din. Fast forward.. When they served the lemonade na, we were wondering why the lemonade tasted weird, and we noticed that it tasted like a cucumber. Right at that moment, I remember that the waiter keeps on urging us to try the cucumber lemonade. And so we requested them to change the pitcher they served to us because that wasn't our order. Then when he already changed it, humirit pa ang mokong ng "Ayan na po, pinalitan na ng Lemonade yan." Like, hello? Weren't you taught to be polite to the customers? Even though we're just a college students, you shouldn't treat us differently with the other elder customers. He didn't changed our glass pa which made me more irritable. Plus, their service charge is way too unworthy. Imagine, the service charge is 10% of our total bill and we're being treated like we're not going to pay for our orders. Mister, you gotta be kidding me. Ughhh. Okay too much rant. Hahaha.

And so me and my friends took a selfie na lang instead. We weren't able to ask the crews to take a picture of us because they're busy chatting with each other. Nakakahiya naman istorbohin sila.  LOL.

From the left: Mollyn, Sharmaine, Keziah and Me

All in all, the food was great; ambiance is, too. But the service... a big NO. I hope when their Manager or the owner of that restaurant gets to read this blog, they should instruct or train more of their crews on how to serve the customers properly; may it be youths, elders, students and etc. I also read too many bad review about Hapag too in the net and I really do hope they'll improve the way they manage the restaurant.

You guys may think I sound a bit woolly, and indeed it is. But I just can't fight my annoyance over this matter. They made my bitch mode: ON. Hahahaha.

And oh, here's our last picture that (finally!! someone took our picture!) at first, one of their server doesn't want to take our picture pa yata. It's like she's thinking pa if she's gonna take it or not. Weird set of waiter/waitresses talaga. Hayy. I hope when I get back to dine in here again, napalitan na silang lahat. Chos.

Till our next food trip!

Kabisera ๑۩๑

Last Wednesday, me, my college friends (Team Bang) and our classmate Crisha, had our lunch at Kabisera Resto Grill. Actually, it's our first time to eat here except for Mollyn and Crisha. My friend Mollyn suggested this restaurant last semester pa, and now that it's our first week in class for this year, we decided to gave it a shot.

The moment I entered Kabisera, I was astonished when I saw that vintage-y Menu counter that contains lists of their available entree to order--written in the blackboard. Unlike the other restaurants where you'll be handed a small booklet menu, here, you'll gaze upon the menu in their small bar and order directly. You can also hear the relaxing songs of Sitti. Bossa Nova music feels!

Kabisera is derived from a Spanish word "Cabecera", which means Capital City.

An open doorway to the table where we had our lunch.

I'm obsessively in love with antiqued and passé stuffs. And if you guys also do, then you'll definitely love the ambiance of this restaurant.

You'll find different kinds of tables and chair settings that are really fusty and dowdy which reminds me of the historic ancestral houses here in the Philippines.

With an open breeze type of restaurant, it would also be a perfect place for lovers to have their date here!

Their ancient style of open bar.. How cool, right?

Even their bygone era powder room won't be left out on the theme of this restaurant!

And the amazing part is when I saw this outmoded preserved door which they turned into a table. So vintage-yyy.

Here's our group picture!
On the left side: Keziah, Sharmaine, Crisha ;; On the right side: Mollyn, Karen and Me

What we ordered for lunch...
ItemKabisera Rice; ₱150.00 (good for 5 persons)
My friends and I loved it! Will definitely order this again the next time we go back here.

Item  Sizzling Pusit; ₱180.00
The sauce was good but inadequate quantity of squid...

Item  Binagoongan; ₱165.00
Didn't like it that much because it's too fatty..

Item  Lechon Kawali; ₱170.00
Good luck sa batok namin! Hahaha! Didn't mind to eat the fat on the top because it was too crispy to feel the fat inside my mouth. Yum! And that's the kind of lechon kawali I want.

Item Krispy Sisig; ₱185.00
One of the best sisig I've ever tasted!

My friend Keziah took this breathtaking pictures while we're nagpapatagtag ng kinain.

Perfect for photo shoot location!

Caught in the act selfie session.. Hahaha!

I can say that it was a satisfying experience. The ambiance ☑; the Food ☑; the Price is absolutely a ☑ and the service ☑! Surely, I'll go back here with my family and my friends again. I just really enjoyed the ambiance there. It seems like I'm somehow in between Vigan and Tagaytay feels. To think it's just here in Malolos. Woo! Malolos pride! (Even though I'm a Pulileña. Hihi.) Plus, the food here is super kaduper affordable talaga! Actually, we expected that we're gonna spend ₱200+/individual; but much to our surprise, we just spent ₱140/head! So what are you waiting for? Come and try Kabisera! I heard it's much cozy to dine-in in the evening here.

Tago tago ng bundat na tyan! Hahaha!
