The Princess in Me ♛

Recently, the Princess in Me #MerrySMChristmas Campaign just ended. The SM Supermalls launched their grand Royal Christmas Celebration, which the event started from November 7, 2014 'til last January 4, 2015. And though I wasn't able to witness the opening of their event and participate to the activities, just by looking at the displays of the Barbie collections and the huge Princess Tree which by the way is oh so pretty, you can really feel the joyous presence of Barbie inside you.

Tadaaaaah! Presenting, some of the phenomenal Barbie collections...

And the remarkable Princess Tree...

So.... Aren't they lovely?

Since I was a little girl, I've always loved Barbie until now that I'm a lady. Barbie always makes me feel the girly side of me. It makes me proud to be a girl. A woman. She is an inspiration for us girls to be fashionable as the way the fabulous dresses suites way too well to her, the girl power in us. That even though Barbie isn't real, she still motivates us to stay pretty at all times. Like she always whisper to us that... "You can werk it girl!" And I can say that I'm really a proud fan of Barbie! Insert Aqua's song...
♩ ♪ ♫ ♬ I'm a Barbie girl, in the Barbie world
Life in plastic, it's fantastic!
You can brush my hair, undress me everywhere
Imagination, life is your creation
Come on Barbie, let's go party! ♩ ♪ ♫ ♬
The difference between Barbie and us girls is that we don't live in a plastic world, it's just that there are many plastic people in our world. Oops. Hahaha. And! We can't be undress everywhere. That's too inhumane. Hahaha.

Ohhh.. So this is what it feels to be inside of a Barbie box.. Those LED spot light makes me feel like a Barbie model! Hahaha! Pagbigyan please. Todo pose teh!

Am I werq-ing it right? ;)
And insert Meghan Trainor's song....

'Bout that bass, no treble
I'm all 'bout that bass, 'bout that bass, no treble
I'm all 'bout that bass, 'bout that bass, no treble

Well our baby bunso Gheanna is definitely werq-ing it!

Lezzgerirown, 2015!

Hiiiiiiii. This should be my first post here in my new blog which is Anything Under The G.. But because we stayed up late and woke up in the afternoon of January 1, I wasn't able to blog about it. Then my laziness prevailed... But I didn't let that stop me from blogging. Because for this year, I am challenging my self to finish what I have started. Chos. But I really do wish I can. Haha. So now, I'd like to share you all how we welcomed 2015.

Me, my Mom, Ate Oli (Mom's friend who really cooks well) and our helpers prepared the food that we're going to eat for the New Year's Eve. Actually this is the first time that I helped making the food because usually I'm just surfing the net or watching the TV while my Mom and our helpers are busy doing the kitchen stuffs for occasions like this. Well now I can say that I've fully grown up. Chos again.

Fast forward.. Right in the middle of cooking some of the dishes, my back pain strikes and my feet aches due to I keep on going in and out our house to get the ingredients needed for the food. Ugh. Disadvantage of big people like me. Haha. So I took a nap for awhile.. Then when I got some energy, I made my version of Shrimp Scampi Pasta which is my Mom's request because she's getting sick with the taste of spaghetti na daw.

Here are some of the pictures of the food that we've prepared for the New Year's Eve..

Korean Beef Bulgogi
Annyeongggg

Beef Caldereta
Anything with beef is fine with me!

Arroz Valenciana
This one's a Paella-type..

Chicken Asado
Also one of my favorite because of the chicken!

Mom's own recipe of Garlic Shrimp with Orange Juice
This is my siblings and I's all-time favorite dish.

My own version of Shrimp Scampi Pasta
If you wanna try to make one, just comment below and I'll make a blog on how to cook this.

Kakanin (Rice Cakes)
Actually, this was just a gift from my Mom's friend. It's a home made pichi-pichi from Ate Raquel. And that suman beside it is from our Grandmother & Grandfather.

We also made a Fruit Salad and Buko-Lychee Salad but sorry I wasn't able to take a picture of it..

And the traditional New Year's Eve fruit

Right when the clock ticks to 12mn...
My Mom and our kasambahays

Gheanna blowing her torotot

And of course... Family picture!

And our favorite part.... Chibugan time!
After our buffet session, my Mom decided to let us play Bingo to make our night more fun. And! It comes with a prize! Whoever wins in a round gets to receive a money as a prize.
Sorry for the messy table.. It's our pang tantos. Haha.

The funny thing is, even Rhev's friends joined the game as well because they also want to win the prize rather than drinking. Hahaha. So after we finished playing Bingo, we played the Beer Pong naman. But I wasn't able to take a picture of it because we were busy playing it na. And my team lose din naman. Haha. Losers.

By the way, this is me and my college friend, Mollyn. She visited me around 2am, I think? We were the one who started the Beer Pong game.

I can say that this New Year celebration has been one of the happiest New Year's Eve we have ever had. Plus, this is the first time a friend of mine visited me in our house right at the time of New Year's Eve. My high school friends which is in Manila kasi haven't been to our house pa because Bulacan is far from there. But I hope one day they can. N'Aww. I miss them so baddd!

I hope this 2015, life for me and my family would be better unlike our life last 2014. I'm excited to what will happen to us this year! I promised my self that I'll be more responsible as a daughter to my mom, Elder sister to my siblings, and a diligent student. I have no idea and I don't know what kind of challenges God will give me this year but I know He'll never leave me like He did to me and my family last year. I'm ready to face any trials that God will put me into because I know He's just molding me to become a better princess of Him. So lezzgerirown, 2015!
Cheers!

Banapple Pies and Cheesecakes

After shopping and watching movie from my last post, me and my family had our dinner at one of my Mom's favorite restaurant, the Banapple. Every time we dine in here, this restaurant is always jam-packed. So we always get a number before we get to our respectable tables.

Here are some of their pies and cheesecakes..

And here are some of our pictures while waiting for our order!

This is Gheanna (my youngest sibling); and my Mom

Ghelleny busy playing..

Hot momma inside the house!

Me and my siblings
On the left: Gheanna, me, Rhev, and Ghelly

And this is what we had...

Ghelleny's:
ItemBaked Fish Gratinee with Scalloped Potatoes; ₱215.00
Succulent white fish baked in cream sauce with a hint of mustard on a bed of herbed scalloped potatoes, crowned with a mozzarella-crumb topping, served with white rice and corn relish
White fish fillet + Mozzarella crumbs? Scrumptious feeling!

Mom's:
ItemPasta Verde; ₱200.00
A rich blend of chopped basil, olive oil, and pecans, served with al dente penne pasta
You'll never get wrong when you order this..

ItemGrandma's Corn Chowder;  ₱95.00
Chowder of potatoes, corn, and crumbled bacon
 Creamy chowder you'll ever taste!

What I had:
ItemHickory Smoked Barbecued Country Ribs;  ₱220.00
Extra tender country ribs grilled in hickory smoke, glazed with their homemade hickory barbecue sauce, served with corn relish
I bet you guys will gonna love this, 'cause their version of Hickory Smoke Ribs is the best!
Gheanna's:
  ItemChicken Parmigiano;  ₱215.00
Tender fillets of chicken breast encrusted in a parmesan crumb mixture topped with a rich stewed tomato sauce and melted mozzarella; served with glazed butter carrots
And for the Chicken lovers out there, you should try this! That mozzarella cheese oozing on your mouth... Yum yum!!
Rhev's:
ItemSalpicao Rafael; ₱225.00
Tender cubes of rib eye steak and sliced mushrooms, perfectly seasoned and smothered in garlic pieces and their special brown sauce; served with glazed butter carrots
Anything with steak is still thumbs up for me!

Actually, there's a story behind this Salpicao Rafael. Rhev and I had a small argument because I asked him what he wants to order. He said he wants the Hickory Ribs, but I told him that's what I'm gonna take because I wanna try other dishes naman. I always order Chicken Parmigiano kasi. So I suggested him to take the Chicken Parmigiano instead. Then when I told Mom about our orders, Mom already ordered na pala the Chicken Parmigiano which is for Gheanna. And so I changed Rhev's order into Salpicao Rafael instead because it's also a steak, except it is a rib eye steak.

Fast forward to the serving of our plates--When the waitress served the Chicken Parmigiano, Rhev and Gheanna were squabbling over it. I told Rhev it's Gheanna's and that I just forgot to tell him I changed his order into Salpicao Rafael. Much to Rhev's disappointment, he ate fast as in 5 minutes eating! Hahaha! And so to cut our small quarrel, my Mom decided to take out another Chicken Parmigiano for Rhev.

Back to Banapple, I'm sure you guys will gonna love their food! It's like the twinnie of Conti's. All their food is worth it. Plus, it's really affordable compare to other restau-cafe out there.

So there you have it! I hope you had a good time reading this blog post and drooling over the food that we had. Don't hesitate to share to me your experience here too. Till the next food trip!
