My best friend Angela and I planned to ate at Nihonbashitei
yesterday as it is one of our food trip bucketlist. And so here it
goes...
It was really way too hot when we came here. Yeah. Summer. Anyway, it was exactly lunch time when we arrived here (Yay! Not late lunch) and we were able to get a table agad even without reservation. As Angela and I were still deciding what to order, we noticed that customers are beginning to fill the whole restaurant. And just as we were about to order, the whole restaurant was already jam packed. Amazing.
Different Japanese Liquor Sake
Here's the menu:
So when we were about to order, we had a hard time calling the waitresses. They were just beside our table and can obviously hear us yet they keep on ignoring us; even the customers beside our table were calling them but they were busy doing something. My point is, even though they were busy, at least kindly tell the customers to wait 'cause that was an act of being impolite, right? Okay enough with the rant haha
And here's what we ordered!
Angela's:
Tempura Udon; ₱330.00
Angela enjoyed it. Typical Ramen with a musubi.
Mine:
Katsu Curry with Miso Soup; ₱300.00
I really love Curry, that's why when I saw on the menu that there's a Katsu Curry, I ordered it right away! In fairness on their curry.. I loved it. Not too spicy and not too plain, it was just right. The Miso soup was also good just like from the other Japanese restaurant.
Kushi Age (Salmon, Tuna, Ebi Tempura); ₱60.00/stick so a total of
₱180.00
₱180.00
I loved it all. The texture was very good. I especially liked the salmon 'cause it was really juicy. If I were not just full at that time, I would've ordered one again. Hehe.
We were disappointed with the service in
Nihonbashitei but we will definitely come back here 'cause the food is
worth it. Plus, it's much cheaper than the other Japanese restaurants.
They just need to improve their service lang talaga. BTW, when we were about
to finish with our food, one of the waitresses suddenly shouted to one
of her co-worker 'cause of some complication with whatever it is. 'Twas
really immodest. Like if you have a problem with your co-worker, you
should've just confront her in a private room rather than shout at her
in front of the customers. That's very unprofessional.

So after we had lunch, Angela and I went to our next spot.. Coffee shop. We decided to try out Yardstick 'cause we heard it's one of the best coffee shop in town and so we went there.
Actually, Angela and I were kinda lost when we were in Legazpi Village na 'cause we can't see the whole Yardstick shop name. But we've been wonder struck when we saw this big Y metal signage. We were like "Ohh nice one" Hahaha.
Such a hipster haha
As soon as we entered the shop, we were astonished because the shop has really a big space inside.
When you step into the counter, you'll see this big menu behind it.
They also had some pastries and sweets such as Banana Loaf and etc.
In front of the counter, you'll see the coffee machines and coffee grinders where the baristas are making the orders. And behind it is a long table for groupies, I think? So basically, the counter and the coffee bar are in the middle of the shop.
Angela got 12-hour Cold Brew; ₱160.00
Which is really bitter. Bleckkk. Angela's fave. Hahaha. Bitterella!
While mine is the Y Shake; ₱180.00
I liked it 'cause it has a vanilla ice cream hehe but really, I loved it.
Selfie timeee!
We noticed that most of the customers around here were busy with their work stuffs. That's why I think Yardstick Coffee place best suits for working people. 'Cause in here, it's not too crowded unlike the other coffee shops. You can have your deadline work here in peace. And this is also the best place for people who wants to learn how to make a coffee.
